(In season)
Watch as chum clouds the water and you wait for the first dorsal fin to appear. Anticipation mounts as the cage is gently lowered and guests ready themselves for that first, electric encounter. It's that once in a lifetime rush as the solitude of the sea encases you and you come face to face with one of the most powerful predators on earth. Shark cage diving in South Africa is high adventure and an experience that will leave you breathless!
All enquiries are welcomed and participation is encouraged from non-divers to experienced divers catering for shark cage diving and surface viewing from our 36 foot, custom built white shark dive catamaran. To ensure client comfort on board, there is a limited capacity of 18 passengers which also includes all the dive and safety equipment, first aid and life raft as well as toilet facilities.
Thorough weather checks are done prior to any trip. If bad weather prevents us from proceeding with a trip on any particular day, clients are informed and an alternative date is negotiated.
Added value items:
• Snacks and cold drinks available on board
• A lecture on White Sharks is given during the cruise
• Includes all equipment
• Scones are served on return to shore at White Shark Lodge

The tour provider is humble and grateful for the privilege and opportunity to work with one of the earth's greatest predators face to face, causing no harm, but furthering and enhancing the chances of survival of this rare species. Everything they do, they aim to do in harmony with nature and the environment they work in. Come and experience the magic of the Great White Shark by shark cage diving.
How it begins
You will be collected from Cape Town or Hermanus and be taken on a scenic drive to 'White Shark Lodge', the home base in Kleinbaai, to enjoy a delicious continental breakfast* and discuss current sightings, indemnities, wet suits and equipment before heading off to board a custom built 36 ft, 4 tonne white shark dive catamaran - 'Shark Team'. Passenger capacity is limited to 30 to 20 plus crew to ensure your comfort and viewing pleasure throughout your adventure experience.
You get to meet one of the intrepid skippers, a qualified paramedic, a Dive Master and a friendly crew member to enjoy a short talk on shark anatomy and behaviour. You will be informed of how the tour company works with the sharks in the area and how you will spend the next 4 - 6 hours diving and viewing these wondrous predators in their natural habitat.
• Breakfast - Consists of yoghurt, cereals, toast, cold meats, tea & coffee.
As the day unfolds
You are fully briefed on all procedures and the action begins as our crew 'chums' the cruise area and you wait with bated breath for your initial glimpse of the first shark fin. Sharks are usually wary at first and we wait a while for them to settle and then lower the dive cage. The first guests enter the cage (takes 4 - 5 people) and spend about 20 minutes face to face with the sharks! We will work with individual sharks and you can enjoy topside viewing during your wait as shark activity is often close to the surface. In fact Great Whites are also known for their 'spy hopping' - breaching right out of the water in pursuit of prey! Topside viewing can yield a lot of those action shots!
Lunch & Refreshments
The lunch boxes are hearty, offering a variety of fresh sandwiches, crisps, sweets and assorted soft drinks and juices for you to enjoy at leisure whilst on board enjoying the fine South African weather. On your return to the harbour you will be treated to tea and scones at the lodge giving you a chance to regroup and share the day's experiences after which you will be driven back to your original meeting point.
Equipment
All necessary diving and safety equipment is provided for you to enjoy your cage diving experience in comfort and security. You are only asked to bring suntan lotion, cap and sunglasses, a warm jersey/jacket and of course, a swimming suit and towel. If you know you are prone to motion sickness or even if you are unsure if you are, you are advised to take medication before departure so as not to spoil your adventure! And last tip - don't forget your camera!

Many South African artists are presented. Explore this multi-media museum includes an audio/visual display of Nelson Mandelas treason trial.
