"Move over Hollywood!" The New York Times
Located on the French Riviera, St Tropez is known today for its famous and extremely wealthy guests during summer (it has been dubbed as the 'playground to jetsetters, models and millionaires').
Famous residents past and present range from Matisse to Marlene Dietrich, French rocker Johnny Hallyday, Joan Collins and Pink Floyd. Europeans are fascinated by St Tropez because it is their Hollywood by the sea, a place where publicity seeking celebrities in yachts too large or dresses too small will gather to thrive on the flash of the paparazzi and the faded glamour of the film festival.
Lunch @ Club 55
THE place to see and be seen, first started serving food in 1955, when Brigitte Bardot was filming 'And God Created Women' on Pampelonne Beach, and the director asked a fisherman's hangout if they could cook for the cast...the rest is pop culture history.
