An excellent excursion outside of Paris is to Claude Monet's breathtaking gardens in Normandy. His unique house, the quaint villages of Vernon & Giverny and our fabulous bicycle ride along the Seine are a welcome change from the hustle-bustle of Paris. Allow us to make the out-of-town trip an easy and enjoyable one for you.
We'll go by rail through the beautiful wheat & sunflower fields of Normandy to the village of Vernon. There we'll collect our bikes, head to the market for picnic supplies and then to lunch along the river in a beautiful park. Finally we'll pedal down our private path to Monet's gardens where we'll spend the afternoon inside the most gorgeous landscape in Normandy.
Monet's Gardens
Imagine stepping into the canvas of your favorite Monet painting. Beautiful flowers, the Japanese Bridge and the famous water lilies await you.
Monet's House
Monet and his family moved here in May 1883 and he lived here until his death in 1926. Visitors may explore the interior of his house and also see his collection of Japanese art.
Monet's Gravesite
Monet died on December 5th, 1926 at the age of 86 and is buried along with his family at the small Giverny church. Monet desired a simple burial and roughly only 50 people attended his service.
Picnic along the Seine
A beautiful park along the Seine with the vieux moulin just off the bank. Relax in the grass or take a seat at a picnic table while you enjoy your meal.

Le Chateau de Versailles awaits you in all its grandeur as you return to the time period of the most famous French kings and queens. Allow us to bring you the most famous "house" in the world as few others have experienced it. After meeting at our Paris office, we'll ride our bicycles to the nearest RER station for the quick train trip to Versailles.
Once at Versailles, we'll first visit the village market to buy baguettes, cheese, ham, wine or whatever you desire for our picnic later in the Chateau's gardens. We will then spend most of our day riding through the tree-lined gardens and near the Grand Canal. The average Versailles tourist doesn't realize that they can only visit a small fraction of the gardens on foot. We'll see it all!
Hall of Mirrors
Used by King Louis XIV as the place to welcome important guests (and also for opulent parties). Try to imagine walking the length of the Hall with servants lining both sides and King Louis himself sitting in a chair at the far end. Also the site of the signing of the Treaty of Versailles in 1919 that officially ended World War I.
Chateau Gardens
The world-famous gardens are alone worth the trip. We spend most of our day in the outer gardens and along the Grand Canal. These are only enjoyed on a bicycle and are virtually impossible to see on foot. Our guests typically enjoy the gardens even more than the Chateau
The Chateau
Located some 20 kilometers southwest of Paris, it was originally the royal hunting lodge. King Louis XIV moved his court officially to Versailles in 1682 and it became the seat of the French government and monarchy. The Chteau housed the royal family until 1789 when Revolutionaries forced them to return to Paris.
Grand & Petit Trianons
Built by Kings Louis XIV and XV respectively, they offer a fantastic view into the original Versailles. Each is located in the exterior gardens, away from the Chateau. Charles de Gaulle had an office in the Grand Trianon after World War II.
Versailles Open Market
Our first stop at Versailles will be at the world-famous market to shop for our picnic supplies. Stock up on fruit, cheese, meats, wine and, of course, pastries. Be sure to bring your appetite and a corkscrew.
Picnic along the Grand Canal
We settle down at the far end of the Grand Canal for the best picnic of your life. Typically everyone buys a litttle too much of something and it becomes a feast for all.
Times:
Daily - Except Monday @ 9am
March and November tour only runs on Tues, Thurs, Sat and Sun

The World War II Walk takes us back to Paris's darkest hours - the Nazi occupation. We will explore subjects such as the invasion of France, the Resistance, life in Paris during the occupation, the D-Day invasion and of course the Liberation itself. Also included are visits to specific Paris sites related to this historical time period.
Deportation Memorial
The Memorial is located on the eastern tip of the Ile de la Cit and is dedicated to the memory of over 200,000 French citizens that were sent to Nazi concentration camps.
The Resistance
Many stories, movies and books have chronicled the important work carried out by regular French men and women that chose to join the Resistance. Even while knowing the penalty, if caught, was death, they tirelessly worked to free France from the grip of Nazi control.
Germany's Conquest of France
France capitulated on June 25, 1940 after Germany overwhelmed its defenses. France had relied heavily on the Maginot Line, which Germany avoided by moving its army through the Ardennes forest in Belgium. Approximately 1.8 million French soldiers were captured during the Battle for France and her army was destroyed.
Charles de Gaulle
At the beginning of the war, Charles de Gaulle was appointed as a liason between the French and UK governments. He opposed the idea of French surrender and, upon learning that Marchal Ptain planned to seek an armistice with the Nazis, de Gaulle escaped to the UK that very afternoon with a few other senior officers and 100,000 gold francs. He would lead the Free French forces throughout the war.
The Liberation
The Battle for Paris lasted from August 19 - August 25, 1944. The German commander, Dietrich von Choltitz, threatened to destroy Paris since Hitler had ordered that Paris be nothing more than a "barren field of ashes." Thankfully von Choltitz surrendered at the Hotel Meurice.
Hotel Meurice
The Hotel Meurice, located on the rue de Rivoli, was the headquarters of Nazi Germany during the occupation. It was also the location where General Dietrich von Choltitz surrendered to the Free French. There is still a bullet hole in the crest of the hotel over the front door.
Vichy France
France had a puppet government based in Vichy that was led by Marchal Philippe Ptain. This government collaborated with the Nazis and betrayed many French citizens. The leaders of the Vichy government were tried for treason after the war and many were executed.
D-Day
The operation was the largest single-day invasion of all time, with over 130,000 troops landing on June 6, 1944 on the Normandy beaches. It would take the Allied armies almost 3 months to reach Paris - today that is a 2 hour train ride.

This walk will take us to the Church of St-Germain-des-Pres before closing the tour at our final destination, St. Sulpice (may be closed on Sunday for Mass). View the infamous Rose Line and take a look inside this dramatic church as you follow the Rose Line to the towering obelisk where Silas believed the Holy Grail rested.

Walt Disneys animated film The Lion King was a huge box office success; Simba, the lion cub left to his own devices after the death of his father, who has to face a number of challenges before he can finally be crowned king in his turn, tugged at audiences heartstrings.
The Theatre Mogador will be hosting the musical comedy of the same name, based on the cartoon film, this autumn. Director Julie Taymor, a young woman with an eclectic artistic profile, has turned the film version into an enchanting theatre adaptation. She had rewritten the story and enriched it with new songs by Elton John, South African melodies and beats, choreography and lively decor.
The production, which has won six Tony awards for best musical, director, choreography, decor, costumes and lighting, requires no fewer than 400 costumes, 200 masks and over 100 puppets.
Don't expect to see the artistes completely hidden within their costumes. Julie Taymor brilliantly emphasises the duality of man and beast in each character by placing the masks above the actors heads. The effect is utterly magical. Featuring about 40 artistes and 20 actors, the production has been entirely dubbed in French, from the dialogues to the songs.
A show for all the family to enjoy!

How long does the visit to the Park take on average?
The France Miniature visit takes about 3 1/2 hours on average.
How big is the park?
The Park covers an overfall surface area of 12 acres (5hectares).
Why don't you remain open in he winter ?
As the visit is in the open air and it takes an average of around 3 hours, we think it best to see the Park in pleasant conditions.
The period of closure also means we can do precious maintenance and restoration work in the park and on the models.
Does France Miniature stay open when it rains?
Yes it does. The dates and times for opening are set in advance and are normally affected by the weather.
Please consult opening dates and times on this page.
Is there a long waiting time at the attractions?
The attractions can be used as you want during the day, so it is easy to go from one to the other whenevera queue is forming. Visitor can choose for themselves when to use the attractions and the waiting time is usually rather short.

2009 Season: Bursting with even more new attractions!
Backed by its innovative positioning in the tourism industry, Futuroscope is reaping the rewards of a recapture strategy begun 4 years ago, delivering a blend of innovation and renewed content (50% new attractions in 2 years).
Futuroscope gives its visitors surprising, hands-on experiences that mix exploration with thrills, all on one site. It is also a destination where visitors interact, that leaves them reinvigorated, where the quality of the welcome is paramount.
The new experiences in store for 2009 will take visitors into a new thrill-bound dimension when the gates open in February. They are taken on a journey along the time axis, between reality and make-believe, where they can explore the past, decipher the present and imagine the future.
New from February 2009
New - The Blue Note Mystery: Futuroscope chose Yves Pepin, renowned designer of large-format multimedia shows and artistic advisor for the ceremonies at the Beijing Olympics, to devise its spectacular new evening show The Blue Note Mystery. Every evening when darkness has fallen, the vast water stage in the centre of Futuroscope comes to life to tell the story of the popular, cool DJ Mike who is facing his virtual counterpart MP5 in a musical sound-off to find a very special tone: the blue note. When the blue note appears as a face of unimaginable purity only to disappear a moment later, our two musical duellists decide the only thing to do is to go searching again for the note that releases untold sonic sensations. Decibelle the petite flying fairy guides them through a multicoloured world of graphic waves, percussions and sound slides. This stunning musical fairy tale blends giant images on water screens, special effects, lasers, jets of flame and light to end the day at Futuroscope in a glorious extravaganza.
New - Cosmic Collisions: As they are sent speeding out from the past into the future in the Milky Way, visitors are greeted by natural phenomena taking place on the dome screen above their heads. As great lumps of rocks and ice collide, our Moon is born...
As an asteroid crashes into our planet 65 million years ago, life on Earth is changed forever when it causes the mass extinction of species like the dinosaurs. Scientists predict that, in two billion years from now, the Milky Way will be hit by Andromeda and the two will merge into a single galaxy. These cosmic collisions are a bridge between the origins and the evolution of the universe: they created the past, are affecting the present and will shape the future.
Models have been created using scientific images from NASA satellites to simulate cosmic phenomena in 3D. This spectacular film was made by the American Museum of Natural History and is shown on a dome screen with narration by French actor Lorant Deutsch.
New - Fly Me to the Moon: by Belgian director Ben Stassen is the first European feature-length animated movie made entirely in digital 3D. It takes a witty new look at the famous Apollo 11 flight that took man to the moon as three flies manage to sneak aboard the space capsule while astronauts Neil Armstrong, buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins are waiting for blast-off. With their outstandingly realistic effects, the giant-screen images in Fly Me to the Moon take spectators along for an incredible adventure with the three stowaways. Children in particular enjoy the fun and action-packed moments in Fly Me to the Moon.
New - EcoDingo: It's 2052 and the climate has got a lot warmer. Key global economic powers are holding a special race for flying vehicles to support of research into alternative methods of transport. Pilots wanting to take part have to follow one rule: use a pollution-free propulsion system.
EcoDingo uses computer-generated images synchronised to the seat movements, together with a sports comentary, to propel the hardiest visitors into a futuristic race. Strapped into their environment-friendly vessels, our pilots of the future must defy unexpected obstacles and the shenanigans of other competitors, all at breakneck speed. Laughter and extreme thrills are guaranteed in the all-new EcoDingo race.
New - When are met science: Could science be the source of beauty and art the fount of truth? Could science address feelings and art address reason? This open-air exhibition of 76 giant photos illustrates a series of analogies between fascinating scientific images and major masterpieces form the art world. Using invisible beauty from nature, mystery zones in the human body, remnants from history, and more, these images from the researchers at Inserm offer links with the works of the great painters, sculptors and architects to provide a shared artistic and scientific view of the world. Each visual association is astounding.
New - Max, escape to reality: This new, interactive live show reveals the magic of the revolutionary technology that is augmented reality. Max is a 3D rascal with an obsession: to escape his computer-generated world, cross over into the real world and meet the viewers. And he is sure that this new technology they call augmented reality can help him do it. As viewers watch him set out on four narrated adventures, Max shows that he can realise his dream. And to prove that it's true, visitors can speak and interact with him.
New - Molecular cuisine all year long: Visitors to Futuroscope are some of the first to discover the cuisine of the future. On the advice of Herve This, "gourmet chemist", physical chemist at the INRA agricultural research institute and researcher at the chemistry department of the College de France, and with the creative and innovative work of Futuroscope's artist-chefs, "molecular cuisine" has been part of Futuroscope's catering repertoire for three years. During those three years, chef Noel Gutrin and his teams at the Le Cristal restaurant have been creating sophisticated and astounding recipes with totally new textures and tastes for visitors to Futuroscope. This ground-breaking approach has been a resounding success, warmly greeted by the growing number of visitors coming to eat at the Le Cristal restaurant. Molecular cuisine was originally available from April to August, but in light of its success will now be on offer throughout the year.
New - Building the future, the eco-aware house: This 2150ft wooden house is a life-sized tool of discovery that reveals solutions for sustainable building and sustainable living. As we explore the three modules that make up the "house of tomorrow" (a living room/kitchen area, a bedroom/bathroom/dressing room area and a showroom area complete with bookshop), we have a chance to understand that technology, architecture, design and quality of life are compatible with environmental protection and energy efficiency.
The Future is Wild:
New interactive fun from April 2009
2008 saw Futuroscope create a new form of entertainment with The Future is Wild, delivering an immersive and interactive experience that takes image technology into the future. 2009 will see Futuroscope pushing the technological cursor further than ever before as it invents new interactive experiences between visitors and animals from the future.
Our explorers with their augmented-reality binoculars and sensor bracelets journey through the realistic scenery that portrays a series of possible future environments forged and moulded by climate change and movements of the Earth's crust. As they travel the four zones - across the dry, cold desert, through the swamp valley, along the bed of the vast Global Ocean and the floor of the tropical rainforest - our visitors watch as animals that could be inhabiting the planet in 5 million, 100 million or 200 million years from now burst into view in 3D, and then spring into action when they reach out to touch and interact with them. Reality and virtual reality combine to blur the obundaries that separate them.

"Féerie" ; 4 main scenes
created to fulfill international audiences’ dreams !
"Féerie", the Moulin Rouge's new show
"Féerie” consists of : a troupe of 100 artists, including the 60 Doriss Girls that were recruited world-wide ; 1000 costumes of feathers, rhinestones and sequins and set up in the most famous Parisian workshops ; sumptuous sets in shimmering colours uniquely designed by Italian artists ; the best outstanding international acts ; and the awaited return of the giant Aquarium, all this performed to original music recorded by 80 musicians and 60 members of the chorus.
"The Moulin Rouge today and yesterday, the Moulin Rouge forever"
The theatre lights go down, the curtain is raised…and the entire troupe appears on stage, under the admiring gaze of the audience who find themselves entering the Garden of the Moulin Rouge to discover the magical atmosphere of the place ! A touch of nostalgia.
From this moment on, the spectators let themselves be enthrolled by the beauty of the Doriss Girls and the Doriss Dancers!
"Sandokan"
What kind of adventures can happen to a pirate whose boat is anchored in Indonesia ? Dreams ? A perfect woman’s love ? …
Once in the land, one meets priestesses, or a Gorgon in her temple surrounded by snakes… one can even attend the Governor’s Ball ! Sandokan has the opportunity to offer his treasures to the lady of his dreams or will we be witnesses to a sacrifice of love ?
"The Circus"
The circus comes to town… with its band of clowns, Siamese twins, pierrots, acrobats, jugglers, weird wild animals and six miniature horses ! Colourful scenes to beautiful music ending with the great parade of the Doriss Girls and Doriss Dancers.
"The Moulin Rouge from 1900 to…"
The Moulin Rouge pays a tribute to Parisian women throughout the years : on the 14th of July, for the Liberation of Paris … with Java or Boogie music. Time passes and leaves space for new generations of women, more beautiful and free than ever !
At the highlight of this tribute, the Doriss Girls dance the world famous French Cancan !
